Just want to say...

If any of you who have been reading this space pretty regularly for the past few weeks have noticed, most of what I have been writing about have been relating to work, work and work.

Of talking about the problems faced, my insecurities with regards to my ability, and maybe other excuses blah blah blah.

Well, perhaps it is time I stopped talking about them and start writing about something else for a change.

No use talking too much about work-related problems and letting it carry on and on.

But then again, writing them down does help in a way in giving me an outlet to express whatever frustration I have.

So there.

There might be some people who may not like the idea of having to constantly read about a guy who is perpetually whining about his work and problems and think to themselves"Oh, there he goes again..." but hey, I can't help it if I am feeling that way and I need to vent all that frustration right?

Anyway, that aside, I think I am slowly coming to terms with whatever is happening at the work place and slowly relishing the challenge.

New boss coming in next year.

Coupled with a move to a new location.

Wow, all that definitely sounds exciting.

Let's see how things shape out in the next couple of months.

In the meantime, I am looking forward to enjoying a few days off out of the country come next week.

Some change of air in a different land is good, albeit if it is just for a few days.

That should rejuvenate me a great deal.

ONEGAI SHIMASU!!

So goes this ever-so-familiar refrain just before the start of aikido class every Sunday morning which we utter to our instructors and fellow students.

Then begins the warm-up regime that all of us follow ever so religiously.

A series of stretches, leg raises and those ever-so-painful push-ups that we have to do with wrists bent inwards and outwards never fail to make me wonder the rationale behind them.

With that done, it was down to the serious business of going through and perfecting the various moves of this Japanese martial art, from knowing how to anticipate your opponent's next move to applying the most effective techniques in flooring your charging opponent with the minimum of effort and the maximum of efficiency.

It's really amazing how a simple use of one's own body weight and momentum, coupled with your opponent's, can enable a pint-sized individual to floor someone maybe twice his or her size.

Or just a basic placement of your fingers and arm in the right places can make your opponent squirming in pain and agony.

Grading for the next level is coming up pretty soon.

Hope I get all these moves correct during the test itself.
